1. Introduction

When consumers make product purchasing decisions, the packaging is an important factor that affects their purchasing decisions, especially in food products. Packaging attracts consumers' attention, communicates with consumers at critical moments in the purchase process, provides information, and provides guidance and educating (Mruk-Tomczak, Jerzyk & Wawrzynkiewicz ,2019). The fruit images on the product package will influence the subjective perception of consumers when tasting food (Lidón et al.,2018).

This application designed an Augmented Reality (AR) interactive solution for the product packaging design of mixed fruit juices to help promote products, improve brand image and drive sales.

2. Description of the application

This application introducing an AR interface technology prototype to show dynamic fruit shape highlights the difference and advantages between it and the single flavour fruit juice in the market as well as novelty and interests user experience attract consumers to make product purchasing decisions. The selected astronaut images represent "future" and "health" and create a psychological link between this mixed juice to the concept of "healthy like an astronaut" (Figure 1). This kind of unique user experience will also make users spontaneous posts on social media platforms. This is also a kind of advertisement for the product and brand.

3. Interaction Design

The interaction design of this application uses two steps to reach the final display effect to attract the user's attention. When the camera is used to scan the traditional paper plane packaging of fruit juice, the advertising slogan "Multiple Vitamins" is first displayed. After touching the text below, the 3D stereoscopic fruit and cup image can be displayed on the mobile phone screen. After touching the cup, the cup spinning (Figure 2).

4. Technical Development

The application is developed with Vuforia engine. The interface technology used for this application is based on the Android environment. After using an Android mobile phone camera to scan, the advertising slogan will appear directly. The remaining two steps are realized by the user touching the virtual buttons (Figure 4)on the target image (Figure 5). This touch AR interaction will make customers feel the fruit jumping at their fingertips, thus deepening the customers' impression of the "health" and "future" of this product.

Further prospects may include: a 3D astronaut model with a drinking juice animation, an astronaut's helmet with special effects based on face recognition when users take a photo or videos with this packaging, an astronaut's helmet will be put on the user’s head.

5. Descriptions of 3D Models
